Windows Trade Plus is part of the Coventry Windows Plus Ltd Group, an established UK manufacturer of windows and doors with a history dating back to 2003.

With extensive experience in the glazing industry, our group manufactures quality windows and doors for trade, DIY, new build, architectural and self-build projects across the UK.

The majority of our products are manufactured at our 20,000 ft² facility in Coventry, together with additional manufacturing facilities in the surrounding area. All our manufacturing operations are based in the UK.

Windows Trade Plus was created from a simple idea: make buying windows and doors online easier, faster and more transparent.

In 2013, one of our national purchasing customers asked whether Windows Plus could develop an online ordering system to simplify the way they purchased windows and doors.

Existing online systems often required customers to request a quotation or complete their design before discovering that their chosen specification could not be manufactured. We wanted to create something different - a system that could provide live pricing, practical design options and clear guidance throughout the ordering process.

In early 2014, the group began developing an online service based around these principles, with simplicity and the customer experience at its heart.

Extensive market research and discussions with customers quickly showed just how complex the windows and doors industry could be. Product specifications, sizes, colours, glazing, opening configurations and manufacturing limitations all had to work together.

To make the system possible, web designers, factory estimators, technical processors, production teams and logistics specialists worked together throughout the development process.

The objective was simple:

If a product could be manufactured to the customer's specification, the online system needed to recognise it, price it and guide the customer through the ordering process.

By 2016, numerous designs and systems had been tested before the final development approach was established.

Aluminium bi-fold doors were selected as the first product to develop. The complexity of variables such as colours, opening directions, glazing specifications and dimensions demonstrated just how challenging the project would be.

By 2018, the system had reached a stage where factory estimators could begin extensive testing. Further development and testing followed until the system was ready to provide a reliable online design and ordering experience.

Rather than launching with a limited product range, Windows Trade Plus continued investing in the technology so that more of our commonly ordered windows and doors could be designed and purchased online.

Between 2018 and 2021, further development introduced sophisticated calculations and product parameters covering products including arch doors, bay and bow windows, bi-fold doors and many other configurations.

The development also required the online ordering system to integrate with manufacturing and delivery processes in real time.

To achieve this, a dedicated Sales Production Delivery (SPD) system was developed, combining functions required to manage sales, production and delivery.

The SPD system was subsequently accepted by the UK Government under its research and development scheme, recognising the development work involved.

Today, the technology behind Windows Trade Plus connects the customer journey from online design and ordering through manufacturing and delivery.

This means customers can design and price their windows and doors online while our systems help manage the specification, production and delivery process behind the scenes.

Installing trickle vents can be time-consuming when the correct fixing position needs to be measured and marked on site.

Our windows can be supplied with a precisely positioned installation mark showing where the fixing screw should be placed. This helps installers position trickle vents quickly, accurately and consistently, reducing installation time.

We use purpose-designed hinge cover protection caps to help protect doors during transportation and handling. The protective caps are made from fully recyclable material, helping to protect the product while reducing unnecessary waste.

Where required, we retain the option for hand finishing during the manufacturing process. This allows additional attention to be given to individual products and details that benefit from a hands-on finishing process.

Our aim is simple: to provide consistently high-quality windows and doors rather than relying solely on automated finishing processes.
